Do you make any of these and store them in the fridge in a mason jar? How long do they stay good? Any of them that discolor or separate too much to store? I make them days in advance and put them in a mason jar and place them in the refrigerator. When I am ready to drink them, I give them a good shake and then stir them with a straw.
The smoothies come back together and taste amazing. Do you even include the bananas when you premake them? And Greek yogurt I think I saw that in there… , or do you blend those sensitive ingredients in once you are preparing to drink them? I was wondering in your Pinterst picture with the mason jars…. Did you make each juice separately and then combine them depending on the recipe? It made it much easier as I could just shake the jar and drink it. When I made these ahead of time, I would make enough for about 5 days. I would drink about per day and then eat a big plate of veggies sometimes with some fish. I would just put them in jars and then shake them well as they do separate. They kept in the refrigerator, no problem.
I started making these for my kids snacks twice a day. They slurp them down and I love that they are getting all of there fruits and veg for the day. So whatever they eat with meals is a bonus vitamin intake. They love the green goddess. I love to hear that. You just made my day! I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. That is so tough as she was so young! Research has shown that stress can wreak havoc on our bodies. When all of my autoimmune issues flared up, I was in a highly stressful time of life so I understand. I do believe in the power of healing alkaline foods that help our immune system. I understand how you feel and wish you all the best! If you peeked into my protein shake cabinet, you would see that I have tried so many as well! I am picky especially with plant-based ones. They tend to have a stronger flavor than whey so it is harder to disguise them. Whole Foods has one that is pretty good and it is their own brand so it is relatively cheaper and goes on sale a lot. I will keep you posted when I find my absolute favorite!
My daughter does not like to eat much food in the morning. I decided fruit smoothies were the way to go. Fruit, milk and yogurt is our typical smoothie. These change it up a bit!
